Pranayama as taught in the classical sense is a system for getting out of—releasing oneself from—the trials and tribulations of being human. The body is denigrated as the ground of suffering and something to be overcome. Do we accept that? Is it true? What if one would like to LIVE in the body without suffering? What if one wants to feel and be profoundly human? The amazing thing is that is exactly how to release suffering. Turning the classical teachings on their head, Patty proposes techniques for fully entering the entire field of life through pranayama as the ultimate embodied method for ending suffering.
